Project Benefit is a non-profit organization that raises money for various charities by hosting fundraisers, benefit concerts, and producing compilation albums. Project Benefit was founded in August 2005, what started as financing for a compilation cd for cancer care and support grew into a series of fundraisers, we decided to dedicate each of the events to a different charitable cause up until the release and continue to do so whenever there is a need!

Hi my name is Randy Greengrass, a resident of St Thomas Ontario, musician, and founder of Project Benefit.

At the age of one I was diagnosed with HISTIOCYTOSIS X, a disorder that occurs in one out of 200,000 children and adults each year. The disease causes an abnormally high level of histiocyte cells, which are produced in bone marrow. These cells help fight bacteria and parasites and help with the production of antibodies. Although the disease is technically not considered a form of cancer it behaves like cancer in its most serious form and it is treated by cancer specialists. It was through successful chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and the tremendous amount of LOVE and CARE that I am fortunate enough to be alive today. Although I was too young to remember having the disease I can’t help but be thankful for the life I have been given.

Over the course of my life I have known far to many people that have battled this horrible disease, co-workers, friends, and family. I decided to develop an album to do my part in the fight against cancer.

Initially I wanted to create an album that represents the fact that not just one type of person gets cancer. Going through this compilation you will find every song represents an emotion, emotions ranging from anger to acceptance, what one might feel when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer.

Everyone is affected by cancer whether directly or not, it is my hope that listening to this album you will remember someone you know, after all, through memories we can truly beat cancer.
